The common bond that brings together facilitation techniques and the need for effective residents’ self-government is none other than the role play by good Facilitators and it is this need that drives MTI into designing the Community Facilitator Program
The desired outcome sought in community work and the goals of the facilitators’ network have a lot in common. They have overlapping values, such as: believing that everyone has the wisdom; that “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts”; and that the wisest decision requires the wisdom of everyone; that everyone has the need to listen and be heard; believing that everyone who participate in decision-making brings a higher degree of ownership and commitment to the plan.
Therefore, the use of facilitation increase the opportunities for residents to contribute their ideas and in the process strengthen their inner drive. Support their own decisions as a productive member of the community, and to develop skills in problem solving and community innovation.
The goal of the Community Facilitator training program is to develop outstanding community facilitators via learning and applying facilitation technique, to harness residents varied background and the positive outcome propels better self-governance
