Strategy and its Implementation

As a leader, the effectiveness of your strategy is measured in 2 ways:

First, the formation of the strategic plan; and second, the ability to implement them to achieve business outcomes that the strategies aimed to do.  We are faced with the following question

Q:Which is more difficult: planning or its implementation ?

A:Once you decide to do something, the biggest challenge before the leader is how to organize the subordinates to do carry-out your strategies.

Q:Why is the implementation of the strategy so difficult? If the strategic plan is clear and you as a leader take on the responsibility of leadership, whu wouldn’t the team actively work towards accomplishing them ?

A:The essence of a strategy is execute it well in order to win the final victory.  Our team needs to be able to foresee good outcomes, achieve tangibles results, be rewarded and share in the joy of winning. Otherwise, it will be extremely frustrating for all.

Apply 20/80 principle, looking for “leverage” to determine the team leading indicators.

1.Set rules:

· Must be simple

· Must be easily visible to all

· Display both the behaviors needed for the moving the leading indicators what will be used to measure performance subsequently

· Must be able to show “win and lose” in a timely manner
